Utility Systems Solutions adds TE Connectivity to its GSA scheduled offerings
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 8, 2011
Dallas, Texas - Utility Systems Solutions, Inc (US2) announced today that TE Connectivity, formerly Tyco Electronics, and US2 have formed a strategic alliance to offer their products and services to Federal agencies through the GSA Schedule.
TE Connectivity designs and manufactures over 500,000 products that connect and protect the flow of power and data. These energy-saving products comply with ENERGY STAR and/or FEMP designated energy efficiency levels. Federal and other government buyers are now able to satisfy requirements for procurement through a certified 8(a), SBD or SDVOSB by using US2, according to Dave Shutler, President of US2.
"The match between TE and US2 is a logical and useful one because US2 specializes in achieving energy efficiency in modifications on utility systems and also turnkey constructions, and TE serves virtually every industry," states Shutler.
US2 has been listed on the GSA Schedule since 2005. Also referred to as the Federal Supply Schedule, this is the most common government contract vehicle, and is a Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) Contract. Federal, state, and local government had spending in excess of $37.4 billion in fiscal year 2009 through GSA Schedule contracts administered by the General Services Administration.
"US2 passed a rigorous review of our capabilities, past performance, and commercial sales practices before being awarded our GSA Schedule contract," Shutler explains. "The process included negotiating discounted rates for government buyers and establishing the GSA Schedule price list."
"Our Government customers can make a determination of fair and reasonable pricing and comply with competitive requirements by using GSA Schedule pricing. The process was essentially completed by the GSA on behalf of government buyers before awarding US2 the GSA Contract," states Shutler.
US2's Shutler adds, "The US2- TE Connectivity contract is effective immediately. We are pleased to move ahead with this relationship with that will allow us both to better serve clients in all branches of government." Government buyers will be able to access this capability at the new US2 website http://www.us2inc.com
