VISN 7 Energy Assessment & kWhOURs Data Collection

The Veterans Administration VISN 7 needed a standardized method of energy data collection and evaluation across its 100 buildings to implement Energy Conservation Measures (ECM).

During the course of research and development, US2 acquired advanced tablet-based data collection and management software. Implementing this data collection software across the entire VISN 7 VA Southeast Network, US2 offered the VA uniform metrics for analysis. Data was organized at the campus, building, floor, zone, and room levels. Data included location, quantity, make, model, serial number, EnergyStar label, and performance characteristics. Seven tablets with classroom training were provided.

Reports were prepared, summarizing facility energy and water savings improvement measures as well as simple payback estimates and preliminary savings to investment ratios. ECM development resulted in more than 70 projects with an approximate construction value of over $80M at a payback of less than 10 years.
